WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Rescuers have recovered the body of a 49-year-old woman from a pond in Worcester following a search.

Investigators believe she died in an accidental drowning.

Her name has not been publicly released.

Police were notified Thursday night that the woman was missing and had last been seen at the pond.

Police and fire officials searched the area. Divers had to postpone their search because it was too dark.

The Worcester Fire Department’s scuba team recovered the woman’s body around 9 a.m. Friday.

The investigation is ongoing.
