CALAIS, Vt. (AP) - Rescuers have recovered the body of 17-year-old from a pond in Vermont’s Washington County following a search.

The body of Seamus Beall of East Calais, Vermont, was recovered early Friday. An autopsy will be conducted.

Witnesses said Beall was a good swimmer.

Rescue crews were called to Curtis Pond in Calais at about 7:15 p.m. Thursday following reports of a missing swimmer.

With temperatures reaching the 90s on Thursday, the swimming hole was a popular destination for locals to cool off. Friends of the missing teen called police after the teen did not reappear after entering the water.
