BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A former employee of Wells Fargo Bank in Billings who admitted to embezzling more than $36,000 from the bank has been sentenced to five years of supervised release.

The Billings Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/2aNMXLv ) that 38-year-old Sara Marie Clark, of Laurel, was sentenced in federal court Wednesday after pleading guilty to bank embezzlement.

Prosecutors say Clark stole for several months before bank officials discovered the thefts in September 2015 and fired her.

Clark has admitted to stealing the money and says she did it to fuel a gambling addiction.

In court Wednesday, she apologized for letting her co-workers down and told the judge that she’s seeking treatment for her gambling addiction and counseling.
