MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A Minot man will serve three months in jail for biting a Ward County sheriff’s deputy on the wrist while resisting arrest during a domestic dispute in May.

The Minot Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/2bbK8p5 ) that 28-year-old Alexander Galindo pleaded guilty Thursday to felony simple assault on a peace officer and a misdemeanor weapons offense, under a deal with prosecutors. The state dropped other felony charges.

Galindo was sentenced to a year behind bars, with all but 90 days suspended. He was given credit for about two months he’s already spent in jail.
