EAST ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have identified the man who died after falling from a railroad signal tower near Rochester earlier this week.

East Rochester police said Thursday that 21-year-old Nathaniel Laborde was found between midnight and 3:30 a.m. Monday on CSX railroad tracks. Police say he climbed the tower before slipping and falling from it.

It’s unclear why the Fairport man was on the tower. Officials say he’s not a CSX worker.

Laborde is a 2013 graduate of East Rochester High School.
