CALAIS, Vt. (AP) - State police say they will resume the search for a swimmer reported missing in Curtis Pond in Calais.

Swimmers called 911 just after 7 p.m. Thursday to report that a friend had entered the water but had not reappeared.

Troopers, along with members of the Woodbury Fire Department and East Montpelier Fire & Ambulance, began searching but did not find the missing person.

Police will continue the search in and around the water of Curtis Pond at daylight on Friday.

An investigation is continuing.
