LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) - A $40,000 reward has been offered to catch the killer of a mother and her 4-year-old daughter in Long Beach.

Police say 26-year-old Carina Mancera, her daughter, Jennabel Anaya, and the girl’s father had been grocery shopping and were walking home around 10:30 p.m. last Saturday when a man walked up and opened fire.

It happened at East Ninth Street and Locust Avenue, less than a half-block from the family’s apartment.

Police say they have no motive for the attack but are hoping someone will step forward with information leading to an arrest.

City News Service says a GoFundMe page has raised more than $28,000 to cover funeral expenses.
