BOSTON (AP) - Police are investigating after a car struck up to three pedestrians, including a child, in downtown Boston.

Witnesses said bystanders rushed to the accident scene at Washington and School Streets around noon Thursday and helped free a woman and a boy who became trapped under the vehicle.

Police said the pedestrians, who were taking part in a history tour at the time, were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver, who according to witnesses briefly left the scene after the crash, was not immediately identified and it was not known if she would face any charges.
