Big fire in Cajon Pass region east of Los Angeles now 26 percent contained; some crews to be demobilized.

2. IGNORING EVACUATIONS

Fire officials concerned about trend of residents refusing to leave when wildfire evacuations are ordered.



3. OTHER WILDFIRES

Blaze in Kern-Tulare counties nears 15 square miles; fire north of Santa Barbara at 600 acres; Big Sur-area fire 60 percent contained at 127 square miles; 18.7-square-mile San Luis Obispo County blaze 60 percent contained.

4. OFFICER WOUNDED

Porterville police officer wounded by gunfire while pursuing suspect who fled on foot during traffic stop; suspect also wounded.
