DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - Davenport police have arrested two men on murder charges after an assault that left another man dead.

The Quad-City Times reports (https://bit.ly/2b6Y9TQ ) police were called Thursday night to reports of a possible stabbing at LeClaire Park, located along the Mississippi River in the downtown area.

Officers found an injured man, who was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Police didn’t release the man’s name pending notification of relatives.

Investigators charged 42-year-old William Earl Crawford and 34-year-old Durrell Ryan Parks Jr. with first-degree murder and willful injury causing serious injury. Both men were booked into the Scott County jail Friday morning.

Online court records don’t indicate whether the men have attorneys who could comment on the charges.

Both of the arrested men are from Davenport.
