WHARTON, Texas (AP) - The remains of a body found last year among trees and brush about 75 miles southwest of Houston have been identified as a 15-year-old girl who went missing from her job at a rural general store in 1990.

Wharton County Sheriff’s Detective Scott Grosser says forensic testing confirms the remains of Rosemary Diaz of El Campo. They were found a few miles from the store in Danevang where she’d been working for about two weeks when she disappeared on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

There were no signs of a struggle, nothing was taken and her purse, radio and car were left behind.

The Houston Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/2b6wTFi ) police believe a deceased relative of the owners of the property where her remains were found was responsible for her abduction and death.
