TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - The woman who helped shape New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s national image ahead of his presidential run says she is voting for Hillary Clinton in November.

Former Christie communication chief Maria Comella told CNN (https://cnn.it/2aqj3Pr ) on Tuesday that she would support the Democratic nominee because it’s not enough to say she’s against Donald Trump.

She says Trump has been a demagogue who has picked fights and failed to unify the country. Christie serves as chairman of Trump’s White House transition team and says the businessman is his friend.

Comella served as a top aide to Christie from 2009 until earlier this year. She resigned after his presidential campaign ended after a poor finish in New Hampshire.

Other New Jersey Republicans, including former Gov. Christine Todd Whitman, have been critical of Trump.
