BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Gianforte received more money from individual donors than Democratic Gov. Steve Bullock did in July, but the governor has more than $1.5 million in campaign funds remaining.

The candidates filed their campaign finance reports Monday for fundraising between June 27 and July 27.

Gianforte received nearly $700,000 in donations during that time, but contributed $550,000 of that amount. Individual donations last month totaled just over $148,000.

In total, Gianforte has donated $1.1 million to his campaign and raised another $1.44 million. He has just under $75,000 remaining in the bank.

Bullock raised $133,000 from individual donors since June 27 and has raised a total of $2.1 million as he seeks a second term. Bullock also benefited from $750,000 in contributions from the Democratic Governors Association to the Good Jobs Montana committee, which is running TV ads attacking Gianforte.
