PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Jackson County has extended the deadline for ambulance services to submit bids for the county’s business.
Last month the county Board of Supervisors decided to invite competition to provide ambulance service after 16 years of going with Acadian Ambulance exclusively.
The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2ai3p6M) county Administrator Brian Fulton told the board on Monday that six ambulance services, including Acadian, had expressed interest in bidding on the contract. And they extended the deadline to Aug. 22, to give ambulance services more time to prepare bids.
Originally they set Aug. 12 as the deadline.
