HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut man has been sentenced to prison for distributing crack cocaine and violating his probation.

Connecticut U.S. Attorney Deirdre M. Daly says 27-year-old Joshua Acoff, also known as Fat Boy, was sentenced Monday to eight years behind bars followed by four years of probation.

The Hartford resident pleaded guilty in May to possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute.

Acoff was on probation for previous convictions in federal court for possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute and the unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Prosecutors say Acoff was indicted in September 2015 as part of Operation Dartboard, an investigation conducted by federal, state and local authorities into gang and narcotics activity in Hartford’s North End.
