NEWBURGH, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a man who went to a Hudson Valley hospital with a gunshot wound has died after being transferred to another New York hospital.

Police in the Orange County city of Newburgh say they were notified around 8 p.m. Monday by the emergency room staff at St. Luke’s Hospital that the injured man had walked into the hospital.

He was transferred to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, where police say he died.

Police on Tuesday afternoon identified the victim as 29-year-old Deandric Little of the town of Newburgh.

Newburgh police, state police and the district attorney’s office are investigating.
