MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont residents have two more days to register to vote in next week’s primary election.

The deadline to register is 5 p.m. Wednesday. Voters may register by mail, at their town clerk’s office, or online on the secretary of state’s website.

The primary takes place Tuesday, Aug. 9. Secretary of State Jim Condos says registered voters who can’t make it to the polls may vote anytime by requesting an early or absentee ballot.

Among the primary contests, at least three Democrats - Matt Dunne, Sue Minter and Peter Galbraith, and two Republicans - Phil Scott and Bruce Lisman - are seeking their parties’ nomination for governor.
