PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Donald Trump’s appearance in Maine’s largest city has been shifted from morning to afternoon.

The Republican is making his third appearance in Maine since he started campaigning for president.

The Portland Press Herald (https://bit.ly/2aZZa1f ) reports he will appear at Merrill Auditorium at 2 p.m. Thursday. The appearance had initially been scheduled for 10 a.m.

Trump has appeared in Portland and Bangor this year, both times accompanied by Republican Gov. Paul LePage.

The Trump campaign faces a tall order in reliably blue Maine, but the state’s northern 2nd Congressional District represents a chance for Trump to win an electoral vote. Maine and Nebraska are the only states to award electoral votes by Congressional district.

Some Maine Republicans are unlikely to be on hand because of Thursday’s confirmation votes to state boards.
