WAYNE, W.Va. (AP) - A Wayne County man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole in the 2014 stabbing death of a 77-year-old man.

Media outlets report 22-year-old Jeremy Marcum of Genoa was sentenced Monday in Wayne County Circuit Court. He was found guilty in June of first-degree murder, malicious wounding and conspiracy.

James “Red” Bundy and his wife, 55-year-old Myrtle Bundy, were attacked with a knife at their home in Genoa after answering the door to someone asking to use the phone. The husband died, and Myrtle Bundy was seriously wounded.

A co-defendant was sentenced last month to life in prison with the chance for parole. Another defendant faces trial later this month.
