PITTSBURGH (AP) - Trial resumes Monday for a woman charged in the death of her 3-year-old daughter, whose body was found in a western Pennsylvania ravine last year.

Twenty-seven-year-old Adriene Williams is charged in Allegheny County in the June 2015 death of Adrionna Williams. Prosecutors said the girl was asphyxiated and left in a wooded area in Swissvale.

Prosecutors played a recorded interview in which she refused to accept that authorities had found the girl dead but appeared to balk at giving police permission to search her car.

Williams said she dropped the girl off at her grandmother’s house, two miles from where the body was found, and then left for work. But prosecutors cited surveillance video showing her car in the area and cellphone data indicating that her phone had been there.
