CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Authorities say officers shot a man as he drove a pickup truck toward them following a high-speed chase that spanned two counties and ended near Casper.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2bz48oJ ) the man, who hasn’t yet been identified, was taken to a hospital after the Sunday incident. His condition wasn’t immediately released.

Troopers began following the truck on Interstate 25 near Douglas after receiving a reckless driving report.

The driver then led troopers on a chase at speeds of up to 100 mph.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says the truck went over a spike strip, drove into oncoming traffic and then started driving in the median before being rammed by a trooper’s vehicle.

The patrol says officers shot the suspect as he drove toward them.

The incident remains under investigation.
