AVON, S.D. (AP) - A Dell Rapids-based company is planning a 36,000-acre wind farm in Bon Homme and Charles Mix counties.

Prevailing Winds LLC in June applied for a state permit for the 201-megawatt wind farm. The facility would include 100 wind turbines, along with related infrastructure and equipment.

The state Public Utilities Commission has scheduled a Wednesday hearing in Avon on the project. PUC Chairman Chris Nelson tells the Yankton Daily Press & Dakotan (https://bit.ly/2bAK1VQ ) that the purpose is to provide the public with information and take comments.
