DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a man who led law enforcers on a foot chase through a mall when they saw him allegedly taking part in a drug deal has been arrested.

The agency said in a news release that on Aug. 10 troopers, Dover Police officers and agents with the U.S. Marshals Services had learned a drug deal would take place in the parking lot at the Dover Mall.

Police say when 20-year-old Traymere Stevens of Magnolia saw law enforcers, he ran into the mall, discarding packets of heroin as he fled. Authorities say he escaped.

Troopers say they arrested Stevens on Monday after they found him hiding in an attic. He is charged with several drug offenses.
