GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A man who downloaded child pornography at his father’s Perkinston home has been sentenced to prison for more than seven years.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2bLMKvd) Chief U.S. District Judge Louis Guirola Jr. sentenced William Woodward to 87 months in prison Friday.

The judge also fined the 39-year-old Woodward $10,000 and ordered restitution of $2,500, federal court records show.

Woodward came under investigation through the work of a cybercrime task force that monitors online file-sharing networks.

Woodward has been held with no bond since Feb. 12.

An indictment alleged he’d been downloading child porn since July 1, 2015.
