ALBANY, Ore. (AP) - Deputies arrested a Sweet Home man accused of inuring his 6-week-old son.

Sheriff Bruce Riley says 9-1-1 was called Thursday about a baby who was having trouble moving because of a suspicious injury. The baby was taken to a Springfield hospital, where he was diagnosed with a broken rib and bruising.

Riley says the 21-year-old suspect, Joseph Thompson, confessed to causing the injuries. He faces charges of assault and criminal mistreatment.

The baby has been released from the hospital.
