NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - A central Massachusetts farmhouse dating to 1800 has been destroyed by a fire.

The Worcester Telegram & Gazette (https://bit.ly/2bZvbHc ) reports that emergency crews responded to a three-alarm fire early Sunday at a home known as the Goodrich Model House. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, but the damage is expected to exceed the house’s value.

One firefighter was treated at the scene for an ankle injury, and one person in the home was taken to the hospital to be evaluated for smoke inhalation.

Authorities said the two-story house is the home of a Northborough firefighter and his family, who operate the site as Yellick’s Farm.

Local and state fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire. A local firefighters union says it is accepting donations to help the family.
