CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - A state commission is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Clark County District Court bench following the death of Judge Susan Scann.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2cauzS1 ) that applications can be submitted through Sept. 23. Attorneys with at least 10 years of legal experience, including two years in Nevada, are eligible to apply for the position.

Applicants will then be interviewed before the Commission on Judicial Selection recommends three finalists to Gov. Brian Sandoval, who will make the final appointment

The 70-year-old Judge Scann died in July after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
