PHOENIX (AP) - Police say one person has been fatally shot in a home invasion in south Phoenix.

Officer responded to a call of shots fired at the house about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Upon arrival, officers located one person down inside the home.

Police say that person was transported to the hospital, but was later pronounced dead.

The name, gender and age of that person wasn’t immediately disclosed.

Police say two cars arrived at the home with multiple armed subjects.

Shots were fired and one person was struck.

During the incident, police say a woman was assaulted but wasn’t shot.

Police say at least two guns have been recovered and their investigation is ongoing.
