CONWAY, S.C. (AP) - The Horry County Coroner’s Office says a man who was killed in a hit-and-run in the county had been on the side of the road for a day or two.

Deputy Coroner Horry County Tony Hendrick told local media outlets that the man’s body was found along U.S. 701 near Bucksport late Tuesday afternoon. Troopers say it appears he was hit by a car.

A passerby discovered the body of the 61-year-old man from Texas who authorities said had lived several places in Horry County.

No arrests have been made and the identity of the man is not being released until relatives are notified.
