NEW YORK (AP) - Fire officials say hundreds firefighters and emergency workers are battling a 5-alarm blaze inside a New York City warehouse.

New York Fire Department spokesman Jim Long says there are no serious injuries in the Queens fire that broke out around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Chief of Department James Leonard tells local media that 250 firefighters and EMS workers responded to the blaze.

He says four firefighters sustained minor injuries.

Officials say fire marshals will investigate what sparked the blaze inside a millwork factory.

Long says all firefighters at one point pulled out from the building, took a defensive position and battled it from the outside.

Images of the fire show big billows of black smoke rising above railyards adjacent to the burning building in the borough’s Sunnyside neighborhood.
