CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Police have made an arrest six weeks after a man was shot and killed in front of a church in Charleston.

Police spokesman Charles Francis tells local media outlets that 29-year-old Leonard Christopher Brown of North Charleston was arrested Monday. He is in the Charleston County jail charged with murder. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.

The charge stems from the July 18 shooting death of 52-year-old Michael Brown, also of North Charleston.

Francis says Brown, who is no relation to the defendant, was involved in an argument with two men. Francis says the victim tried to run away but was chased down and one of the two men shot him.
