WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police are investigating the theft of hundreds of campaign signs in New Castle County.

The agency said in a news release that a candidate whom they did not identify reported that more than 400 signs had been removed between Saturday and Sunday.

Troopers say the candidate claimed the signs belong to her campaign and had been placed in numerous locations throughout the county.

Delaware is having a state primary on Sept. 13. Nominations for the lone U.S. House seat, GOP governor and General Assembly seats will be voted on.
