YARMOUTH, Maine (AP) - The Swiss company that bought Maine-based DeLorme last winter says it’s going to continue to publish the popular DeLorme Atlas & Gazetteers for all 50 states.

Garmin Ltd., known for its GPS technologies, announced Tuesday that there will be no changes for the printed Gazetteers but that they’ll eventually be sold from garmin.com instead of delorme.com.

The Atlas & Gazetteers were the first products DeLorme offered when it was founded in 1976, and they enjoy iconic status among hikers and others who use the outdoors.

Ted Gartner, a Garmin spokesman, said that the new corporate owner will not only continue publishing them but will be enhancing the gazetteers in coming months and years.
