MAHANOY CITY, Pa. (AP) - State police are investigating the discovery of a human skull in a wooded area in eastern Pennsylvania.

Police in Schuylkill County said the skull was found at about 8:30 a.m. Monday on Schuylkill Energy Resources of Jack Rich Inc. property in Mahanoy Township.

State police searched the area Monday and Tuesday and said no further skeletal remains were discovered.

Police said more analysis of the skull will be done in an effort to identify the person and determine the cause of death.
