SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. (AP) - The Washington State Patrol says the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 have been closed near Snoqualmie Pass due to a fatal motorcycle crash.

State troopers responded to the scene about five miles west of the summit Wednesday afternoon for a serious collision.

KOMO-TV reports (https://goo.gl/6Yvo3F) a motorcyclist was found dead at the scene. No further details were immediately available.

Westbound I-90 was closed at milepost 52 and traffic was being detoured via the off and on ramps at milepost 47 near Denny Creek. The detour was causing a four-mile backup and adding up to 45 minutes of travel time.

The freeway is expected to reopen around 4 p.m.
