NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Two men have been slain in a late-night shooting in New Haven.

Officers responding to 911 calls at about 10:45 p.m. Tuesday about a shooting found the victims on Dewitt Street.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he appeared to be in his 20s but have not yet positively identified him.

The other victim, suffering from several gunshot wounds, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he died about an hour later. He was identified as 36-year-old Tyree McCrea.

Police think the victims were targeted and that the shootings were not random.

There was no word on arrests.
