MILNOR, N.D. (AP) - Law enforcement officials in southeastern North Dakota are searching for a man who managed to elude officers following a car chase.

Sargent County Sheriff Travis Paeper tells KFGO-AM (https://bit.ly/2bRxlbd ) a homeowner contacted authorities after he disrupted a theft at his property south of Milnor Tuesday night. Paeper says authorities located the suspect and a pursuit through Ransom and Sargent counties ensued.

Paeper says the suspect eventually got stuck in a bean field, where he abandoned the vehicle and walked away. The search was suspended around 3 a.m. Wednesday and resumed later in the morning.

Paeper says authorities believe the man stole a car in Forman and later a pickup truck owned by Full Circle Ag.

The suspect is described as a white man about 50 to 60 years old, with a small mustache and approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall.
