EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a 23-year-old man has been charged in a hit-and-run last weekend that killed one person and injured another in southern New Jersey.

Police said Tuesday that Anthony Colon was charged with causing death while driving on a suspended license, endangering an injured victim and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Authorities say the Ventnor man was driving a vehicle that struck two pedestrians just after 1 a.m. on the Black Horse Pike in West Atlantic City. Thirty-year-old Nikita Petrecca died in the crash and the second victim sustained injuries that police say aren’t life-threatening.

It’s unclear if Colon has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
