MURDO, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota man has been charged with a misdemeanor for tossing a half-gallon of milk from an interstate overpass that ended up breaking the windshield of a semi-truck.

The Daily Republic (https://bit.ly/2bRFE6Z ) reports 19-year-old Murdo resident Jacob Arendt has been charged with throwing a substance on a highway with intent to case damage. The charge carries a maximum penalty of one year in custody.

Court records show Arendt was arrested earlier this month after he and some friends bought the chocolate milk at a convenience store, went to the top of the Interstate 90 overpass and dropped the milk onto the eastbound semi-truck. The milk landed in the passenger seat, and the driver called 911.

It wasn’t immediately clear Wednesday whether Arendt has an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
