MOUNTAINBURG, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State Police say two men have been killed and three people injured in separate crashes on state highways.

Police say 66-year-old Monte McCaghren of Mountainburg and 60-year-old Steven James of Dumas died in the crashes Wednesday. A juvenile in the vehicle with McCaghren and two men in the vehicle with James suffered undisclosed injuries.

A police report says McCaghren died when the vehicle he was driving on Highway 71 in Mountainburg went off the roadway and crashed into a tree.

Police say James died when the vehicle he was driving on Highway 65 south of McGehee went off the road into a ditch, then struck an embankment and a culvert.

The police reports say the weather was clear and the roads were dry at the time of both accidents.
