WELLFORD, S.C. (AP) - Officials say a 15-year-old driver has struck and killed two people in Wellford.

News outlets report the South Carolina Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on Old Spartanburg Highway.

The coroner’s office says the teen struck and killed 34-year-old Justin Bersaglia and his 31-year-old wife, Telisha. Both died at the scene of the wreck.

Authorities say the driver wasn’t hurt and was not at fault for the accident. But troopers say the teen was cited for not following driver’s license restrictions.
