BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A man accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside a Vermont courthouse is set to return to where the alleged crime took place.

The Burlington Free Press reports (https://bfpne.ws/2aTNqBp ) 33-year-old Robert Rosario is scheduled to appear at Burlington’s Edward J. Costello Courthouse Friday morning to answer to a charge of sexual assault without consent.

Prosecutors say Rosario raped a woman in the second-floor women’s bathroom of the courthouse last fall. The Bronx, New York man had appeared in court that day for a hearing in connection with an unrelated drug case against him.

The rape case shined a light on security concerns in courthouses around the state. The Burlington courthouse was cited as having “significant shortfalls” in a report last year.

Rosario’s attorney says his client will plead not guilty.
