LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say they have captured an inmate who walked away from a work crew in Las Vegas.

The Nevada Corrections Department says 36-year-old Juwan Ameil Stuart was taken back into custody by Henderson police and U.S. marshals after a foot chase on Wednesday.

The department reported him missing Friday after he walked away from a cleaning assignment for the Nevada Division of Forestry, which trains minimum security inmates to battle wildland fires.

Stuart has been imprisoned since March and is serving a sentence of 14 months to 4 years for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Corrections official say Stuart will be taken back to prison, where he will complete his sentence and face additional time for the escape warrant and possibly other charges.
