TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Tempe say they’ve arrested a suspect in a homicide at an apartment last month.

They say 25-year-old Mikel Martin is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder, burglary, arson of an occupied structure, theft, endangerment and unlawful imprisonment.

Police say someone set 27-year-old Martin Valenzuela and his apartment on fire while he was unconscious on July 24.

Valenzuela was transported to a hospital where authorities say he died from injuries sustained in the fire.

Police investigators say Martin met Valenzuela through an online ad and arranged to meet at the apartment.

They say Martin allegedly stole several items from the apartment after setting the fire.

It was unclear Thursday if Martin has a lawyer yet.
