CLEVELAND (AP) - Investigators are searching for the person behind the wheel of a car that they say fatally struck a motorcyclist and fled the scene in Cleveland.

The crash happened Wednesday evening. The victim was taken to University Hospitals, where she was pronounced dead.

Police didn’t immediately identify the victim but they say the woman was a former city employee.

Authorities say witnesses told them the suspect took off in a red or maroon, four-door vehicle with an Ohio license plate. Investigators are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact them.
