CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Police say a driver was unharmed after her car ended up in the Contoocook River in New Hampshire, but that she was arrested on drunken driving charges.

Police learned the car was in the river in Penacook at about 11 p.m. Thursday. As of Friday morning, they were still trying to extract the car from the river. It was near a dam.

Arrested was 31-year-old Ashley Gordon, of Concord. She released on personal recognizance bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on Aug. 22. It wasn’t immediately known if she had a lawyer and a phone number couldn’t be found for her.
