LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Little Rock police said a man died in police custody after resisting arrest.

Lt. Steve McClanahan says officers investigating a report of a suspicious person in a trailer park in southwest Little Rock found the man wearing only shorts and acting erratically.

McClanahan told reporters the man refused to obey the officers and resisted arrest until the officers were able to get the man on the ground and handcuff him. McClanahan says the man then began having trouble breathing and became unresponsive.

The officers administered first-aid until an ambulance arrived and took the man to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not identified the man. The officers are on paid leave and their names were not immediately released.
