JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Jackson police one man died and another injured after two men with assault rifles shot them outside a home.

Commander Tyree Jones tells local media outlets 27-year-old was shot multiple times Thursday evening and pronounced dead on the scene.

Jones says two men with their faces covered pulled up in an older model gray or silver car, got out with assault rifles and shot Evans and injured a second man. Jones says the injured man, who was shot in the leg, is being treated at University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Jones says police are asking the public to help with any information they might have on the two shooters.
