COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say storm winds have ripped off roofs, toppled trees and knocked out power in several parts of Iowa, but no injuries have been reported.

A strip mall in the Scott County community of Park View lost its roof Thursday night, as did a building in northeast Iowa’s Colesburg.

People lost power in several cities, including those in Dubuque and Delaware counties. Winds hitting 54 mph were reported at the Dubuque airport.

A waterspout formed over a lake in western Iowa’s Council Bluffs caused no damage or injuries. The thin funnel could be seen clearly Thursday evening from much of the city and from Omaha, across the Missouri River in Nebraska.
