LYNN, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts man has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge stemming from a fatal shooting last month.

The Essex District Attorney’s Office says 24-year-old Lynn resident Edwin Flores was ordered held without bail at his arraignment Monday. It’s unclear whether he has a lawyer who could comment.

Lynn police responded to a reported shooting just before 6 a.m. July 11 and found 24-year-old Philip Russo suffering from a gunshot wound. Russo was pronounced dead at Lynn Union Hospital a short time later.

Flores’ co-defendant, 28-year-old Michael Tate, also of Lynn, pleaded not guilty to murder at his arraignment on July 15. He was also held without bail. It could not be immediately determined whether he has a lawyer.
